Don't buy this coffee maker! Jul 19, 2010 I read all the bad reviews on this coffee maker, but because I have owned two other brew stations in the past, and loved them, when it was time to replace the last one, I bought this one. What was Hamilton Beach thinking? Besides the leaking problem, which is much worse than I thought possible, after 8 months, the inside coating starts to come off. I think it actually cooks off. This pot gets so hot, the coffee boils in the pot. My son feared a fire. We always turned it off when we left the house, don't depend on the auto shut off. Back to the point, yesterday, I made a pot of coffee, and everyone started complaining about the taste. I threw out the coffee in the pot, and took a look. The black coating (plastic???) was peeling off and it smelled of burnt plastic. So unless your into eating plastic, stay away from this model!
Auto-program will not activate Jul 11, 2010 I was seriously excited to get this coffee maker. I ran a trial pot with just water, and the water dispensed without any mess. I tried to set it to begin brewing at a certain time tomorrow morning, but following all directions, the clock never began blinking to set the program. The only way I can use it is to begin brewing right as I want to use it. That's not what I paid $60 for, so it's
going back. Would have been great if it worked...I am considering replacing it in spite of the negative comments.
GREAT Coffee Maker! Jun 07, 2010 For me personally I have found this to be a wonderful coffee maker! I read the other reviews where people have been talking about it making a mess but I can honestly say that I have not seen that.
I've had this coffee maker for several months; I bought it to replace the piece of crap Cuisinart that I had and I have had no trouble with it at all. I use regular coffee cups with it and haven't had the dribbling problems or mess that other's have seen with it.
But after owning the crappy Cuisinart Coffee Maker anything is better!!!!!! I think this has been good value for money and we are very pleased with it.
Worst coffee maker ever May 26, 2010 This is absolutely the worst coffeemaker ever. We bought it 8 months ago when our good old $20 Mr. Coffee was broken by movers. This one looked so great. Boy were we wrong! This thing makes such a mess! The spout for the cup is up so high that it's hard to see how much coffee is in your cup. Also, if you don't position the cup just perfectly against the lever you end up with coffee all over the place. On top of that, lifting the lid on the top makes a big mess because condensation builds up on it every time you brew a pot of coffee. So, when you open the lid, water runs all down the coffeemaker. As if all of that wasn't bad enough, we've only had this thing for 8 months and the black finish on the inside of the pot is coming off - I discovered it all over my towel when cleaning it tonight. So, unless you want a big mess and want to drink whatever type of paint they used for the bladk finish on this thing, don't buy this coffeemaker.

Feedback after owning MANY Brewstations including this one now May 13, 2010 The electrical cord is 25 inches long to the very tip of the metal prongs. Otherwise 24.5 inches cord length including the plug part you hang onto. Leaving you 24 inches for the cord itself. Our previous Brewstations all had this same length of electrical cord. This model does not have a turntable on the bottom. The only time we needed turntables were on older Brewstations that had to have the water poured into the base from a certain side to avoid spilling or to aid in viewing the fill level markings. This model has ALL the previous fill markings and some new ones. Very handy for older eyes. The MAXIMUM coffee mug height is 7 inches if you hold the mug vertically. (If you hold your mug at a angle and use your finger to dispense against the mechansim you can fill anything.) 7 inches is plenty tall for all the standard travel/commute mugs holding 16 oz. The lid does dribble all over the place when you take the Brewstation apart for cleaning or making another pot. Just remember to lift the lid slowly and tap it with vibration as you open it. You will leave condensation water from the lid running down the back of the Brewstation about the volume of a 50 cent piece. The lid cannot be removed. You can wipe up the spilled water by simply running a sponge, papertowel, etc around the back. Remember, this is water and not coffee. If you position a papertowel at the hinge you prevent problems. The Brewstation does dispense/dribble down the back of your coffee mug once in awhile. The first time you notice this and before your next pot of coffee you clean the pot out and then fill with a few inches of clean water, lift the pot so you can see under it where the coffee dispenses and manually trigger the release mechanism to allow it to flush coffee grinds out. End of dribbling. There is a domed filter screen permanently attached at the point where the coffee leaves during dispensing. This lets small particles of coffee get by apparently get into the valve seat. Brewstations make GREAT coffee. House guests almost always end up buying their own. ALWAYS buy the latest model Brewstation with the highest numberic model number as you get the latest features that way and improvements and fixes. LOVE the Brewstation.
