Easy way to make a toasted sandwich Mar 09, 2010 I purchased a Dualit toaster and decided to try these optional accessories. In three minutes I had made two toasted cheese sandwiches so easily that my teen-age sons wanted to try. Simply butter your slices of bread, put a few slices of cheese between the bread, and put your sandwich into the sandwich cages. The cages fit into the slots of the dualit toaster but you do have to watch for pieces of bread that might stick through the cage. We used regular Italian loaf bread without any problem. Set the toaster for just under 3 minutes, wait about 1 minute after toasting, and you are ready to enjoy your sandwich. Much easier than getting a frying pan out and making the sandwiches the old way. The sandwich cages come with recipes for other sandwich ideas.
Indispensable but not without a problem Feb 11, 2010 Yes, I do have some trouble stuffing this thing with regular bread slices if I try to jam in a bit too much. It only allows a thin slice of cheese and maybe a bit of deli-thin ham, but even so, unless the bread is pretty thin, I have to squeeze it to fit it in the toaster. I have to ACTIVELY look for thinly sliced sandwich bread. Most of them are too thick to fit into this sandwich cage. Ahhhh, but the results are just divine. I don't care if it doesn't fit very well, it taste sooooo good, and it's sooooooooo easy to make a quick cheesy sandwich. I guess this thing helps you to watch the calories. . .
Excellent Product. I love It! Jun 16, 2009 This has been my favorite sandwich maker. I have been using it for about 5 months. Contrary to other reviews most store bought pre-sliced bread fits perfectly. My favorite Orowheat Dill or Extra Sour Rye Bread with two slices of ham and two slices of pre- sliced cheddar overlapped side by side. I lightly butter the out side of the bread and set it about 3 and 3/4 minutes, then I let it rest a minute and then remove as this gives the cheese more time to get gooey. I trim off the edges of the two slices of cheese or fold them in beforehand to keep it tidy which creates minimal drips. They are easy to deal with if you wipe off the rack and empty the tray. I don't have do this every time, no problem! You might even be able to spray it with a nonstick spray such as Pam. It is much less maintenance than a skillet. If you are so fussy as to want each side browned perfectly the same I just switch sides midstream or put it back in on the opposite side for a minute. No toaster browns perfectly on both sides other than a single slice toaster which Dualite does make. I own the Dualite Light two (long) slice toaster. The filling options for sandwiches are endless and they provide great recipes with the product. You can use no butter if you are cutting down on the fats and can still get the grill effect, you can use olive oil but do not use margarine. Not dishwasher recommended. I am ordering a second one. The Brits are brilliant!

Fun, easy, delicious Feb 02, 2009 I love this thing! It gives me a healthier alternative to my beloved grilled cheese sandwiches. All you need is decent cheese and a teaspoon of butter. A good cheese slicer that can give you nice thin slices also helps. Unlike others, I find this fits my regular super market brand of bread fine -- Orowheat. It also makes clean up a lot easier. It's convenient too -- you can heat your soup while the sandwich is cooking away. I felt silly ordering it but am so glad I did. Plus, it's saving me money. When I'm thinking about takeout as an alternative to cooking, I do this instead as it is quicker, cheaper and mostly tastier.

Pass on this one Sep 04, 2008 Too small to be of use for me. I found it much too small for even regular sized breads. Never tried it with pitas or folded tortillas as suggested by another review. Currently, its just taking up space in my gadget closet. Save your money and buy the toasting rack instead.
