Great Coffee machine! Jul 27, 2010 This machine is great to use, excellent coffee on the first cup and many cups after. I purchased two each, one for work and one for home.
You really don't need to use the plunger but its useful to blow the air through the filter to the last coffee drop out of the machine after it drips through by gravity( for Drip Coffee). Using the plunger creates more atmospheric pressure (7 to 11) using hot water 194 to 203 Deg F for an expresso what I read on sweetmarias dot com website.
The filters are sort of expensive AeroPress Micro-Filters, Package of 350 with the shipping, so its best to "wash em out and flip em over" or just buy some cheap Rockline 43-301 Coffee Filter Disc or any cheap large coffee filters at Walmart and cut out 2 at a time (2 1/2" diameter) with a template C-Thru Jumbo-Circles Template and exacto knife which you never need to worry about purchasing these disc filters in the future.
Must have item!!! Jul 25, 2010 I've been recently exposed to this device and I wish I knew about it sooner.
I have all sorts of java juice extraction devices (to include drip, percolator, French Press, and my Saeco Super-automatic) and this $20 dollar device clobbers them when it comes to single/double servings. With the correct type of coffee and water temp, you can get the creme just like wiki image on their wiki page. This coffee is so simple and easy, I'm seriously considering selling my $600 Saeco--yes, seriously.
I currently have two, one for home, one for work and will soon have a 3rd for my suitcase.
I can't put into works how much I love this thing. If I could by stock in Aerobie I would be a 10% owner and start selling the suckers myself.
For customers looking to buy, it comes w/ 300 some filters already so you can save the extra $10 and get the press without the extra filters. I also rinse and reuse my micro-filters for the day and it tastes just the same. Go ahead... call me cheap
Works great, but I received a used Aeropress Jul 24, 2010 I'm quite happy with this purchase for $22. I received my Aeropress today. I've been using those plastic Bodums from Starbucks (the ones that say "Give Up Bad Coffee For Good") for a while, and I never felt like investing in a glass one since I heard they break easily. I'm completely satisfied with the coffee produced by the Aeropress and thus with the product itself, but I'm not happy about receiving what was obviously a returned Aeropress. It was kind of dirty and the inside still smelled faintly of grounds. I wouldn't have any problem with this if the listing on Amazon said that they were refurbished. It's not really a big deal, but I'm still going to have to give four stars.
best coffee ever!!! Jul 21, 2010 the best coffee I've ever had!!! this will save me lots of money being able to make an awesome cup of coffee at home myself, quickly and easily, rather than being tempted to go out and buy one for $3+ a cup. so happy I found it!
easy to use, FAST, and the result tastes GREAT!!!
Best Coffee Ever Jul 21, 2010 Wow, this makes great coffee! It is very easy to both use and clean as well. I have been making iced lattes lately. I find that if you hear the water in a mug, add your coffee grounds to the mug and then pour it into the press it makes it very easy to get strong coffee, otherwise I was always making it too weak for my taste.
